@ccohanlon@merveilles.town @neauoire@merveilles.town Thank you. Yes, I did ease it a little bit yesterday but I'm afraid it wasn't enough. I'm considering going back today to ease it more and get a professional's opinion about the mast and the rig.

    @artsun@merveilles.town Maybe also take the mainsail halyard and lead it to shroud base on the broken spreader side and take up the tension. @yngmar@social.tchncs.de is right: alloy masts, even non-tapered, cruising ones, are designed to flex a bit. The prospect of a €15k+ (at a minimum) replacement of standing rigging and mast is an eye-wateringly painful prospect, especially as you've been contemplating selling the boat
