@pacific06@mastodon.social trenches that get filled during heavy rain still serve a purpose. Without the trenches, all that material would have continued to move over the land and eventually would have washed away. You almost certainly also helped some of the rain water to infiltrate. It may feel like a setback but your plan is working!
