@Moosader@mastodon.gamedev.place @raptor85@mastodon.gamedev.place Mystia's Izakaya is another good example: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1584090/Touhou_Mystias_Izakaya/ 3rd-party games routinely blow the production quality of the original top-scrolling shooters out of the water. (my response to playing one of the mainline Touhou games was "seriously? this is what all the fuss is about?")
