@tomkalei@machteburch.social It might very well be that in both fields I never moved completely over the »rigorous« stage and into the post rigorous stage (in the words of Terry Tao). It might be that I'd be a more successful research mathematician and programmer if I had completely embraced the »post-rigorous« mindset. @jdw@mathstodon.xyz But what stops you from working the way you want to work on whatever you want? Of course, If you need to earn money, then there are constraints. But still, on the personal level, the availability of a new tool should not change anything for the worse, or does it? But of course the environment changes, yes, and society and learning and attitudes. Maybe it cannot be analyzed solely on the personal level.
