Good piece in the Conversation today about the impact of CSIRO cuts on the ACCESS modelling team - and the national and global implications.
I appreciate the authors' commentary on the risk of brain drain. It increasingly feels like Australia just isn't a great place to have a science career.

@michcampbell@fediscience.org I like to think of us climate peeps as Jedi right before the fall of the old republic - we're already framed as enemies of the republic, and soon we'll be disbanded and hunted down by the rising empire... but give it a few years and we'll be sought after to save everyone's' ars. (I really wanted to use a Star Trek analogy, but unfortunately Paramount does not allow me to)
