@lxak@goblin.technology I found that the key of A makes the sopranos/tenors have to go up to a high F-sharp, which is a bit of a reach for non-professionals, so I stuck to G major instead. (Plus too many sharps/flats in the key signature makes some of my people panic. A-flat major is right out.) Where did you find a Wikipedia link regarding this?

    @ossobuffo@deacon.social Sacred Harp nominal pitch is usually for ease of fitting on the staff. I expect we'll probably key it around F#-G. Paschal troparion lists this particular version as Morosan's. I reworked the Alto to sound a bit more shape note-y and added a repeat. The recording had it about a 2/2 tempo, so I sped it up with 4/4 (a la William Billings' notation). I can't wait to sing this in the group! PDF
