@rand__althor@kind.social @kurt@social.thiskurt.me Seen people talk about this like it's the MCU-ification of "Lord of the Rings," which, I mean, kinda, but "an adaptation based entirely on a bit Peter Jackson skipped" feels /completely/ in line with things like "The Silmarillion" and those History of Middle-Earth books.

@Alexis@beepboop.one @rand__althor@kind.social Just give me a standalone Scouring of the Shire movie. They can go full Marvel What If.../Galadriel's Mirror for that one. The Scouring is something almost impossible to tack on the end of the Jackson series as yet another conflict, but also sort of the whole point of the story, so why not.
