@hirnsushi@sunny.garden Yikes! It's the first time I hear about ytdl-sub, sounds potentially nice! I did subscribe to Nebula, though, and I like it, but it doesn't have all the things Youtube has obvi. I wonder if adding a certain amount of waiting inbetween downloads would help getting IP banned?

@enne@sunny.garden ytdl-sub is kinda nice, if you stick to the prebuilt presets, and only use it for youtube, which probably works for most people. I needed a few more options, and let's be honest I just can't help it, and that's where things get complicated. It does everything I need it to, but getting there required not only untangling the chaos that are the included presets, but also reading the source code, and parts of the yt-dlp source. I only have a basic understanding of python, and their docs are incomplete, so it was all a bit harder than it needs to be. Oh and it actually has throttle protection enabled by default, which pauses for random amounts of time between requests, but youtube has been getting more and more locked down, so that doesn't always help. Thankfully a lot of the channels I watch are also on nebula, so if youtube decides to block me completely I'd be OK, but I've also enabled a VPN again, that works, for now… :Blobhaj_Shock:
