@cavyherd@wandering.shop @slyka@pawb.fun @miunau@meow.social there are of course laser readers for vinyl discs. the issue with it is dust; the needle can remove some dust from the groove, laser can only do it at significantly higher power levels 😉

I would expect some degree of algorithmic correction could address that? Probably too late in the game/too low volume to be worth it, but I'm a little surpised no one's come up with non-static vinyl.
