@zeblarson@hcommons.social hard relate. My PhD supervisor was like 'you should write a book!', and I was like 'if I'm to give up my weekends for that, I'd at least like to receive proportionate remuneration' :blobcathmph:

@alicemcalicepants@ohai.social Yeah, the costs are just way out of proportion to what you gain unless you're either independently wealthy or you're in academia.
