This has the potential to split the client population to more than one frequency in thinly populated areas (that need frequency consistency most).
Also: What are the plans for bridges at the border between "off-grid" and "on-grid" areas?
This may turn into a smart idea eventually.

@dj3ei@mastodon.radio I also think there could be some downsides, but in general sounds promissing to me and from my understanding of the MC-Philosophy this is meant as an ad-hoc/emergency solution.
