Also, hospitals routinely bill patients up front and then submit claims to insurance. If the insurance ends up covering more than they charged the patient, guess what they don’t do unless you personally follow up… give you a refund. Now that I figured that out I never pay up front and tell all medical providers to go through my insurance.
