I thing that’s just the 1st gen AirPod stock image from Apple.
Like these are:
Batteries weren’t as good then and they needed the extra space.

Daaang! I have the second gen? regular AirPods and they seem shorter than that in my memory! Then I picked up a second gen set of pros cuz I needed ANC for some stuff and they feel so much smaller hahaha
