Consequences of this:
1. Privilege waived: This means that discussions between lawyer and client could be made available to third parties (normally they're not, that's what privilege is for).
2. SRA referral: The solicitor uploading the documents, or their supervisor who has signed off on the work, could be referred to the regulator. The regulator has a range of sanctions, up to and including a ban from working as a solicitor.
3. ICO referral: Embarrassing but the ICO is fairly toothless.
