And like a counter what’s the big deal?
Read the lengths Netflix went to just to make a counter. This is crazy hard.

In our case, from your Apps perspective, it’s lock free. You can choose to yolo count or reliably count - you can even retry your count if it failed within a dupe window. Typically the app doesn’t need exact counts (most counters you see on the web are approximate) so in our case you get current value back after write for a single operation write+read. It’s made for easy caching. You can have many millions of counters, shards easily, easy to make reliable etc Super dope.
