@drj@typo.social it's actually not that esoteric as the association with uxn could let you believe.
It's smaller than BDF, straightforward to render and still supports character width. For constrained microcontroller projects - it's quite nice.
Ofc it has huge limits as it's monochrome, has no ligatures nor dynamic width, only extended ASCII, ...

@tyalie@chaos.social yes its simplicity makes up for other shortcomings :) Do you have a public example of it being used outside of uxn/varvara? (i'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it would be nice to see an example).
