I think the correct way of doing this is to create the release, ensure you have a pre release track available, then release it as public and schedule the listening party. People will then get immediately emailed about it and get to hear a track before you want them to, but not the others, but at least you can then schedule a party? God knows :/ This doesn't really seem that hard!
