@Njord@zeroes.ca canadian, "parents don't have 'parental rights' only guardianship* obligations" was one of the first things they drilled into us when i was learning family law *they still called it "custody" in the statute back then but really trying to move away from what "custody" has come to mean in the popular mindset was one of the things motivating the change
