@TishaPaints@mastodon.art I've a very "first principles" sort of "artist". (I don't really feel comfortable calling myself an artist, mostly I just play with stuff.) When I was little, and would bring home art from school my mom would always throw it away and tell me not to waste my time. So, by about 7 I'd stopped trying to draw or paint. It wasn't until the pandemic, in my 5th decade, for me to decide nobody could stop me from painting if I wanted to. Or sculpt, or wield oxy-acet torches to create giant metal things or throw clay at things. I would probably benefit from some actual knowledge of the things I'm attempting, but I find I'm happiest when I'm elbows deep in discovery. :) And my walls are covered in experiments. Most of them terrible, but each of them a learning experience. I really love your work. Everything feels imbued with energy and emotion. It's such a valuable thing you create. :)
