@MissConstrue@mefi.social Ah, so these will get muddy for me too if I don't let the underpainting dry before applying the next layer. Maybe it's just that?

@TishaPaints@mastodon.art I think that may be part of it, and I think part is that I went on a Caravaggio kick, and was starting with dark umber and working up to light, and I do not know how to do that. Turns out, great masters were masters. Who knew? 🧐🤣🙄.
