The #39c3 is over, and I finally wanted to share an update on my #Braille #sticker experiment. A huge thank you goes to @svenja@mstdn.games and another person who kindly tested the sticker. Both were able to confirm my initial concern straight away: the Braille dots are not sufficiently tactile.
For this reason, I only handed out the stickers to a small number of people as examples. This was to ensure that no one finds the sticker by chance and assumes that this approach is viable.

That said, this does not mean that I will stop experimenting. As a designer, the topic genuinely interests me from a technical perspective, and I also found it extremely engaging to learn more about Braille in the process. On the one hand, I am considering looking for a reasonably priced printing company that would be willing to apply a double layer of varnish. I also plan to follow up on @Drayventhal@mastodon.social suggestion regarding sign-making companies and Mimaki printing systems.
