@lexiconista@mastodon.ie good mate of mine finished his PhD recently. It was hard work, but a wonderful experience. The secret? He's 56. His original arsehole gaslighting thesis advisor had retired. His new thesis advisor had been a fellow top student in the 1990s who had stayed in academia and with whom my mate had always had an excellent relationship.
