5. I checked out tried some newish editors like ecode (made with game engine so non-standard widgets), Lapce and Lite-XL (both look cool but the base installation is pretty basic, lots of plugins to hunt down).

6. Neovim could work but I have not dived into plugin management, blog posts and repos look very chaotic and brittle. What are people using?
