@ben_hr@old.mermaid.town such a great idea. I'm particularly taken with your criteria, the focus on animism as opposed to organised religion as a way of perceiving the universal spirit that animates all things, and the concept of solarpunk imagining new equilibriums. Would you say that, as much as these are wonderful concepts, that they're overly idealistic? Or is it that we need such perspectives in order to counterbalance the harshness of the world many of us experience today? I agree that grassroots, bottom-up, evolution is what will create lasting change, I just don't know where to realistically find it nowadays except for in fiction. Although how can we create a new world unless we can first imagine it? My biggest sticking point with any future-imagining is always the fact that until people inherently change who we are, individually, from the inside out, then nothing's going to change in our environment. I'm looking forward to checking out this list as I realise, even as a film lover, there's plenty on here I haven't seen.
