@GhostOnTheHalfShell I don't think that taxing wealth down to size will ever happen (because wealth is power and the richest people in the world will not allow it), but even if it could somehow be achieved I cannot endorse that approach because I do not accept that ends justify means (in fact I think there are only means, no "ends"). Taxation is a means that depends on many things that I fundamentally oppose. This doesn't mean I would oppose increased taxes on the rich if it were to happen somehow,* just that I would not feel right about diverting energy and effort into trying to make that happen as a solution because, however positive it might seem, it would depend on perpetuating systems and power structures that I utterly oppose. * edit: though it could mean that, depending on what was to be done with those funds.
