@mjgardner@social.sdf.org @jenniferplusplus@tech.lgbt Yes, at least a passing understanding of Marx - whether you agree with him on a normative level about how society *should* be structured - is indeed required background knowledge if you want to be taken seriously about the topics he pretty much defined (though he wasn't actually the first by a few decades).
