To your edit: They are messages like "This person you follow edited their comic/updated their page/posted a new chapter"
Every time someone writes a post on their own profile, you get a notification in your feed. It's enough that you bookmarked only one title created by this person, and then it gives you a full summary of their activity here. I think it would be cleaner if I unsubscribed from everyone, but just dumping my content and running feels like an asshole move :/

@Ypsilenna@sunny.garden That sounds miserable. Are there not preferences for the notifications you get? (Though if over half the notifications were adverts, which I doubt they'd let you opt out of, I doubt opting out of the other crud would really help.) And yeah, dumping and running is assholish, and probably won't help you enjoy the site more. Tapas was never great, but I have heard (some years ago) that it was at least less miserable than Line Webtoons. Don't even want to imagine what the latter's like.
