I have redrafted an earlier post about an email problem; I've decided to archive a bunch of old emails, which should solve the problem. However, I'm still curious about one aspect of the problem: the mysterious timestamps. Here's the issue, if anyone has an idea of what this is about. I just added a Gmail account to my Thunderbird app via IMAP. This Gmail account has a handful of emails from 2007. At the time, those few specific emails had a timestamp of 1904. (?) Not the Gmail stamp at the top, but when I replied and the original message appeared below my reply, it looked like this: ----- Original Message ----- From: <XXX> To: <YYY> Sent: Wednesday, January 06, 1904 4:53 AM The sender was in Peking, China; and I guessed that might have something to do with it, but I had no idea. If it matters, the sender's email address was on the domain of an American university. Now, in Thunderbird, those messages have a time stamp of 2040. That's how they appear in the message list for the Inbox of that Gmail account. ??? #Thunderbird #Gmail #email #TimeStamp
