So I was out Saturday morning doing my normal brisk 45-minute walk. A Fall On an Outstretched Hand due to the uneven One Tree Hill footpath meant I spent the rest of Saturday in medical waiting rooms, with a plaster cast on my left (off) wrist from 11pm. We bailed from Auckland Hospital at 1.30am when the nurse checked with the CT team and shared that the night shift wasn't going to see us. Returning at 7am got us a bed and quick CT scan for the orthopaedic team to review. We were hoping for an op later in the day, but they said that I need an op by the Hand team at Middlemore. Not yet scheduled, but needs to be within 14 days, before it heals in a sub-par way.

@ErrolNZ@mastodon.nz Ouch! Sounds like you're getting a real traffic-jam tiki tour of the medical system! Best wishes for a speedy resolution!

@ErrolNZ@mastodon.nz If there were a sympathy button I'd hit it.

@ErrolNZ@mastodon.nz Damn, that sounds unfortunate. I hope it heals well and quickly.
