Somehow I made it through the last five years without owning an HDMI dummy plug. Mostly because I'm in the fraction of the population that owns more than three computer monitors. But I've now bought a couple because of my M1 Mac laptop with a broken screen. Mac laptops won't stay on when closed unless you plug in a display, keyboard and mouse. Rather than a screen, I'm just going to use the dummy plug and access the Mac remotely using locally-hosted rustdesk and SSH.
