@cholling@bytes.programming.dev A trusted authority (a gov. agency) personally verifies your date of birth and then issues a digital ID containing this information. The ZK system simply proves that someone trusted by the verifier has already verified and signed it. The chain then guarantees that no one has altered it during the process, and the owner can obfuscate it through accessible fuzzification, e.g. by providing a time interval within which the date of birth is guaranteed to fall.
