@econetwork@mas.to Thank you! I was curious. I'm attempting to grow Blue Corn this year, and my neighbor is growing Sweet Corn.

  • @econetwork@mas.to I have been learning about the different varieties and how they can be used. Blue Corn is good for tortillas (flat breads), while Sweet Corn is good to eat off the cob. I was going to plant popcorn as well, but I didn't want the corns to cross-pollinate. I think my neighbor's corn is far enough away. We'll find out!

    @DoomsdaysCW@kolektiva.social Ohh, then pollination is going to take place because maize is mainly pollinated by wind. The current corns will look normal, but in the next season those seeds may then develop into mixed varieties of corn, which you as a farmer may not like!
