@leigh@ottawa.place want a suggestion from a long time instance admin? vet new accounts. if you open your doors you'll get people from all over the world looking for an account, maybe a lot of those are robots too. I vet all accounts on mastodon.se. it means slower growth, but much less moderation headaches, almost 0 spam, and actually a better behaved local timeline.
