At some time in the early 90s I asked a young woman for advice about buying a boombox.
She said: Take something from Panasonic. Their stuff lasts forever...
I did so, and I'm just playing Anne Clark's Terra Incognita CD on it, which my late mom's JVC stereo from 2005 refuses to recognize.
