Economic reports that measure the economy as a whole can be skewed by the ultra wealthy. Things are often going great for the top 1% - 10%, but not so great for everyone else. This leads to a disconnect when political leaders say the economy is going great, but for most people it is not.

Trump isn't alone in doing this - Biden did the same thing. Making stock prices go up does not affect all people equally. People like Musk, Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg, and their pals benefit literally millions of times more than the average American.
