One of the latest projects I’ve taken upon myself is setting up a Minecraft server on my raspberry pi. I used to play Minecraft a lot when I was in middle school and high school. My brother and I used to play multiplayer on his Xbox 360 all the time. Ever since I went to college I haven’t really played it much, but I decided I wanted to get back into it. It took a bit of playing around with my Cloudflare tunnel but I got it where the server is accessible. My friends that play Minecraft have been busy this month, but I’m hoping to get them to hop on in the near future. in the meantime I’ve just been enjoying playing the game again. It’s been helping my brain relax a bit after a pretty stressful April, and the coziness is really nice. It’s also interesting to explore how the game has changed in over ten years of me not playing also. I gotta be a little careful though, watching the cpu and ram usage on my pi. it is struggling a bit whenever it starts generating parts of the world as I move to new places. I may need to look into optimizations for running it on the pi. but either way, I’m enjoying it right now!
