@grishka @MartinEscardo@mathstodon.xyz Yes, text is always faster than GUI, because 1 byte is 1 character but in graphics 1 byte is 1 pixel, so everyone wanting pretty pics on their web-pages was the first step in the big slow-down (in the early days I used Lynx mostly, unless it was necessary to have pics for what I was doing), and then along came video on web...
