Went to Trader Joe's in DC today. Parked in a handicapped spot, got out with my cane, found the elevator broken — stairs only. Talked to store manager. No repair date. No alternative access plan. But I did get a "disabled customers are a priority." The ADA passed in 1990. Thirty-six years later and "have you tried the stairs?" is still a thing. 😤 #DC #DMV #Disability #Accessibility #DisabilityRights
