Today's thought: being in a situation (trans woman in a bad economy and facing down a massive political backlash) where your best option is going into business on your own account is uncomfortably stressful at the best of times. I've had some success recently with mentoring (I've secured two new longer-duration clients), but now we get to play the very fun and not-at-all stressful game of "will at least one invoice get paid before rent is due this week?")
In one sense, I can hardly complain

because obviously I'm getting clients, word-of-mouth is starting to work and when everything comes through I'll actually be stable for a little while, but I want stability now, and instead of being able to relax I'm trying to pull together some package offerings that I might be able to shift more quickly. I dream of an Artist's UBI.
