I think any new labour leader needs to be someone that is likely from the North. They need to be a voice the contrasts recent leaders. It is shallow but a regional accent will probably help them sound a bit more relatable to the voters that have lost in the last year.

@kigelia@mastodon.online The new leader that the Labour Party needs if it is too revive its fortunes is not the leader that Blue Labour are likely to allow to function... and therein lies the party's probelm
