@kbm0@mastodon.social @ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us When things stop making sense to us, maybe the questions being asked aren't the ones we think they are? Perhaps when powerful people get together,, and this same crap keeps on happening, it's because they know what they are doing? It can't be that all of the accidents and idiocy and mistakes, from almost all sections of politics and the media, just happen to be going very clearly in one direction. You'd have to be some kind of mad coincidence theorist to think that.

    @robj@mastodon.social @ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us I tend to think about it not so much in terms of a conspiracy, but rather how the self interest of certain privileged groups can work against the common good. A redistributive economy is made difficult by globalisation, and also by the reluctance of middle earners to bear a heavier tax burden.
