@alex_p_roe@mastodon.world Even those who have previously held down other jobs which did require qualifications and training seem to suffer a total and utter collapse of all intellectual (and moral/ethical) function once embarked upon a political career.
Naming no names but I can think of one particular example immediately and I’m sure there are probably others.

@adrianww@mastodon.scot Yes, it's very odd how simply being involved in politics tends to change many for the worse. I've seen this in Italy with the 5 Star Movement which has been absorbed into ‘the system' and ‘tamed’.
