@footrest@mastodon.social I'm not thinking anything, I am somewhat of a veteran of too many "wars on crypto" that I think any attempt of regulation in its naive form of "Nerds! Nerd harder!", i.e., find a solid, stable and permanent technical solution for a problem of society and then mandate a global uniform technical adoption is a waste of time. "blocking pornographic content" is such a "nerd harder" thing, something humans cannot agree on, in this case "what is pornography" will not be solved by any technical implementation, not even with AGI. My specific point in this case is "read who has said what", in this case, a service of the parliament was asked to provide a TLDR that fits in the busy timetable of the members of the European parliament. An author was assigned and, imho, did a bad job cutting and pasting quotes. This is not an opinion of the European Parliament, this is not an opinion of the Commission, this is not a draft of legislation. This is noise. Treat it as such. Sorry for the rant, but I see this story popping up everywhere across my newsfeeds and it's a waste of time.
