The difference between "having an impression of someone" in the way most people judge others and "psychologising someone" is completely arbitrary and based on neuronormative standards.
It's similar with so called "mindreading".
If a person gives of a certain amount and kind of "signals", but lacks self-insight and self-awareness, you might know better what they subconsciously "think" and "feel" themself, in a certain situation.
