@drj@typo.social I seen a lot of > 256 being used for, for example, human readable names of variable instances. But either way, that's probably overkill. And I don't know how many type designers would bother logging in to a WF admin panel to override texts for their font. So I guess we're back to simply listing all characters ;-)

@pixelambacht@typo.social yeah, the spec has a table for associating human readable strings (in different languages) with each feature and character variant. if you put them in. and it uses IDs > 255
