Epigrams (esp. early modern ones) are the closest older writers were to toots/tweets. People always loved witty, very short forms! So to honor that tradition, here's my attempt at translating one famous in Czechia:
Don't go skating with the Lords, Bill,
many a case is known:
the Lord he falls - and still - the poor guy breaks a bone.
