@theking@mskey.nekomimi.party this is because the architecture of fedi discourages effortposts and necroboosting - and therefore fandom culture. so when you see a ramble, you're unlikely to have any prior knowledge of the subject. which sucks and idk how to fix it except some kind of backfilling for posts from instances that died before the current ones were made. which seems fraught

@mir@ice.ch3.st @theking@mskey.nekomimi.party effortposts in a specific few fields are fine because fedi kinda has a large portion of generally computer-touchingly competent users but beyond that i think like the large majority of my oomfies know nothing of the many fandoms i am a part of so on the few occasions i make fandomposts, theyre near totally ignored since theres also no algo to bring those posts only to the users who are in my fandoms like my pfp and banner are references to one of my most popular fandoms but nobody here apparently knows jack about it (alien stage, ily vivimeng) and i have no clue on how to find the people willing to fandompost with me the obvious answer is like a redditlike or idk federated forums i dont feel like making multiple accounts and plenty of my fandoms are sufficiently young that there is no forum community so idk idk idk i think someone was working on a google plus circles thingy idk
