@BrambleBearWhuffling@sunny.garden I don't have experience with bulbs in a more exposed site like that, but if there are any spots with enough soil to tuck in some small bulbs like Crocus , Corydalis, Muscari- those would be done by late spring.. Maybe other spring things like Hepatica? -evergreen but early blooming and expecting shade later.. Oh, Gypsophila repens..
Things like lettuce at least you can try from seed inexpensively :) Other annuals could be fun to play with alswo- Marigolds? lobelia?

@BrambleBearWhuffling@sunny.garden I'm sure your original links suggested Sedums? lots of species and varieties-- some have significant flower power for a time, great foliage and they are called 'Stonecrop' because many have edible leaves..
