@nycki@bark.lgbt having this weird flashback to the early days of html/css ... didn't the original web color palette have names for each of the colors?

@causticmsngo@mastodon.social it still does! and I used to use those, until I got burned by using 'magenta' and not realizing that ff00ff actually just looks more 'purple' to most people. I had thought I was using a sort of dark raspberry color but it turns out you need something like two parts red to one part blue for that.
