What is more, where coordinate systems are not needed they need not be used at all. But, to get back to Special Relativity, I think instead a more abstract elaboration on galilean relativity, dropping the notion of "observer", would have done the job far better. But now we no longer have Minkowski space and thus no incentive to develop Einstein's theory of gravity. We see it is merely the accident of Special Relativity that gave us this particular field theory.▫️
